In the beehive, nurse bees produce royal jelly in significant quantities, surrounding each larva with a pool of this nutrient-rich substance. They then cap this pool with beeswax, forming a cell where the larvae will consume the royal jelly for up to 21 days before emerging as adult bees.

Contrary to what some may believe, royal jelly does not spoil or diminish in potency due to temperature fluctuations, as it is naturally consumed by bees in their hive, which maintains an average temperature of around 94 degrees Fahrenheit.
